FAQs

We walk dogs between 7am and 6pm however times can vary depending on your needs and can be discussed during the meet and greet. 

Phone calls/ messages/ emails may vary on response time due to having our hands full however we will respond ASAP but may be before 7am and after 6pm.

When it comes to group dog walks or multiple dogs from the same household Cheddarwood Pet Services are insured to walk 6 dogs at any time, however will only walk 4 dogs per person at any one time. We also ensure that temperamentally as well as geographically suitable dogs are walked together where possible. 

 

Group dog walking is a fantastic way to socialise your dog, build their confidence and it is a great way for them to burn off that excess energy in a social activity.

Yes. You will be asked what dates and times you are looking for when booking your Dog with Cheddarwood, however this would depend on the current availability.

Group walks will consist of no more than 4 dogs and this will vary depending on size of the dogs. Where possible dogs from the same area will be walked together to minimise travel time on the dogs and they will be taken to a green area or park. Group walks can be carried out between times depending on availability, area and if there are solo walks being carried out, however will predominantly be carried out between 10am and 3pm.

 

Adventure Days will vary on the number of dogs depending on transport and walkers available, but there will usually be at least 4 dogs. The location also varies and will be disclosed before booking and pick up and drop of time estimates will be given. Your dog(s) will be taken out for a few hours to a forest//field/beach or dog friendly area, where they will be allowed to run, play and sniff to their heart’s content.

Please be aware that on both group walks and adventure days pick up times will be before the walk starts and drop off will be after the 1hr. If this exceeds 30minutes after the walk you will be notified by text.

Adventure Days

Minimum of 2hours depending on location more information will be given closer to the adventure day. 

If your Pet requires longer or shorter walks/visits we can tailor this to your specific requirements, prices will vary.

The 30minutes solo walk will be carried out around your home and if a green space or park is available in the 30 minutes they will be walked to this location. 

 

If you are on the 1 hour solo they may be walked or driven to a green area or park close by where it is safe and interesting for you dog(s). The walks start from leaving your home unless driven more than 10 minutes away.   

 

Group walks your dog may require a car drive when picking up and dropping off and they will be taken to a green area or park close by to all the dogs which is safe and interesting for your dog. 

 

Adventure days will vary on location but this will be provided prior to booking in order for you to make the best choice for you and your dog(s)

 

We try to vary the locations and routes in order to provide variety for your dog to keep walks interesting.

Yes. If your dog is very nervous around other dogs then we will advise/provide solo walks to keep the stress level down for your dog so they can enjoy their walks. Dogs from the same household can be walked together depending on number and size.

No, the majority of our clients are happy for us to hold keys for them which enables us to collect and drop off your dog while you’re not at home. All keys are kept in a secure location and will only be marked up with the names and address the key belongs to. The keys will also be signed for upon collection and when you require the key back a form will be completed upon returning the key.

In an emergency we will contact you immediately to discuss the situation. If we are unable to contact you and urgent veterinary attention is required we will take your dog to your nominated veterinary practice or alternatively the nearest vet depending on the circumstances.

Absolutely. We are very happy to offer ad-hoc walks and we are very flexible when it comes to booking. However please bear in mind that prior to your first walk there is paperwork and a meet and greet required, therefore we advise you to contact us at least 24hours prior to when you require the walk and have availability the day before for use to meet your Dog(s).

Yes. We always carry out a meet and greet with you and your Pets prior to signing any contracts. This is to ensure that you and your pets are happy with us and also if we are pet sitting we can be acquainted with where you keep all food/litter/harnesses etc. These can be arranged at short notice for a time that is convenient for you but we do suggest that you have at least 24hours prior to the first day of the contract.

Yes, however there may be the odd occasion due to illness or annual leave where we will need to use a different walker. You will be informed as soon as possible when  a different walker may need to be used.

Yes. I am fully insured and DBS checked and also canine first aid trained.

We are very flexible when it comes to bookings however we do ask for 48hrs notice where possible to ensure there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 48 hours may be charged at full rate but will be discussed at the time of cancelation. Please see Terms and conditions under sections 3&4 for all terminations/cancellation details.

Yes, we are happy to offer morning, evening or weekend walks. Please refer to our prices page for specific charges.

This will vary. 

If the walk is short notice and just an occasional walk all payment will be required up front when you are booking the walk or at the start of the walk when we come to collect your dog(s). 

 

If you bulk book walks payments can be paid monthly/weekly however payment will always be required prior to the forthcoming walks and an invoice will be sent out. This can be discussed further during the meet and greet. 

 

For Pet sitting all payments will be required at least 72hrs prior to the date the pet sitting will start. A non refundable 20% deposit will be required within 24hrs of booking in order to keep your booked dates. 

 

We accept payment by credit or debit card, bank transfer and standing order or Cash.
